The agent of Bayer Leverkusen's Dimitar Berbatov has confirmed Spurs made an enquiry about his client's availability. It follows the remark made by the agent of Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse regarding Tottenham's approach for the player during the winter transfer window – claims that were later denied by Martin Jol.
Apparently, Berbatov's agent told the club it would have to wait until the summer before the Bundesliga club would listen to offers.
The 25-year-old scored a hat trick against Kaiserslautern at the weekend.
