Christian Eriksen has taken a very clear swipe at former club Tottenham Hotspur by claiming that he has a 'bigger chance' of winning a trophy at Inter.
The Danish star had made it clear that he had no intention of signing a new contract with the Premier League side, and subsequently joined I Nerazzurri in the January transfer window in a deal worth around £16.9m.
Inter are in the middle of a dramatic title race with Juventus and Lazio, and while speaking to Sky Italia, Eriksen said that it's been a long time since he last won a trophy, and he has a 'bigger chance' now with Antonio Conte's side.
"There's a big chance of winning a trophy here or a bigger chance than where I was of course," Eriksen said. "The Champions League final was a very bad day, we lost which you don't want to remember.
"I'm here to win and start something new. The last time I won something was at Ajax so it's many years ago. I still remember the feeling so I want to achieve it here as well."
The midfielder arrived at Spurs in 2013, and spent six-and-a-half seasons at the London club, until he decided that it was time for a new challenge. Despite reaching the Champions League final and improving year on year, Tottenham failed to win any silverware during the Danish star's stint at White Hart Lane.
"I've been rumoured to a lot of clubs in the past few seasons. When Inter came they were concrete and they looked promising."
The 27-year-old was philosophical over Inter's title chances when the question was posed to him, admitting that I Nerazzurri must 'take one game at a time.'
"I think there is a possibility. We need to take one game at a time. Juventus have won the title for many years.
"We need to be consistent and close to them for as long as possible and in the end we'll see where we end up."
Inter are currently sitting in second place, three points behind Juve with 16 league games remaining to catch their bitter rivals.
