The Spurs striker was substituted at half-time in Spurs' 1-0 defeat at White Hart Lane having sustained a rib injury which could force him to miss England's games against Bulgaria on 3rd September and Switzerland four days later.
"I think he might have done a rib, he was in agony at half-time," Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said after the Wigan game.
"He's not sure if he's broken a rib or what he did but he was in pain."
