Martin Jol said he was delighted for Hossam Ghaly after the midfielder, signed from Feyenoord at the start of the year, opened his goalscoring account for the club in Turkey on Thursday night.

Ghaly, who only his made Tottenham debut at Old Trafford on September 9, as a result of Aaron Lennon's knee injury, has started the last three games for Spurs.

Jol said: "Hossam Ghaly played on the right in pre-season, did well but then our internationals came back after being in the World Cup and he had to wait again for his chance."
