Gareth Bale Set to Make Second Tottenham Debut Against West Ham

Gareth Bale could make his much anticipated return to the Tottenham squad for their London derby with West Ham on 18th October.

The Welshman left north London in 2013 to join Spanish behemoths Real Madrid. However - despite winning almost everything there is to win with the La Liga champions - relations turned sour towards the end of his seven-year stay, with Bale afforded a watching brief for many of the club's fixtures.

Following months of speculation the 31-year-old finally secured a loan move back to Spurs, however a knee injury picked up while on international duty with Wales - a knock which was detected during his medical - has delayed his long-awaited return to the starting XI.

With the injury forcing him to sit out Wales' clashes with England, the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria, the international break has allowed the forward time to regain fitness and the Telegraph report that Bale could be in line to make his Spurs return in their London derby with West Ham on 18th October.

Despite their marquee arrival being sidelined since re-signing for the club in September, José Mourinho's men have been in fine form of late.

Since their opening day defeat to Carlo Ancelotti's Everton, Spurs have drawn two and won five of the following seven fixtures, a run which has seen them progress to the Europa League group stages and the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, while beating Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford in the league.

The seven-game unbeaten run has seen Mourinho's men notch an impressive 25 goals, and with talismans Harry Kane and Son Heung-min firing on all cylinders, the prospect of the pair being joined by one of Europe's top forwards has only increased the feeling of optimism around the club of late.
