Midfielder Gilberto Silva summed up the Gunners' campaign. The Brazilian said: "When it started we were making plans to play our best and fight for the title. We have struggled with some results and the team hasn't been as comfortable because lots of players have got injured. Others joined the team but they needed time to grow and settle."
How times have changed. As Spurs fans we know a great deal about teams not quite cutting it at the top of the pile, but in comparison still managing to do alright in knock out competitions.
