Happy Days

With just 14 days remaining until the start of the new season, Tottenham fans are the most optimistic fans in the capital according to a poll by Barclaycard.

Manchester United fans were found to be the most optimistic in the premiership, with the Old Trafford faithful understandably buoyed by last seasons triumph and the players the club have bought in over the summer. Spurs fans also have cause for optimism, with the board investing heavily during the pre-season period in a bid to break into the top four during the coming campaign. As for the clubs main London rivals, Arsenal fans are understandably still suffering from post-Henry blues and Chelsea have had to watch last season's Champions splash the cash whilst their own club penny pinched (in comparison to previous seasons, that is)

In other news, after the club missed out on Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov, Martin Jol has set his sights on Newcastle's Kieron Dyer. Though there is interest from rivals West Ham, Dyer is said to prefer White Hart Lane as his destination and The Times is reporting that a £4.5m deal is expected to be completed over the weekend.
