Harry Kane 'believes' he has played his last game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is said to believe he has already played his last home game for the club and will ‘definitely leave’ this summer, despite interim manager Ryan Mason attempting play down the significance of the lap of honour on Wednesday.

The 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa was the last game Spurs played at home this season and a solo Kane made a point of circling the pitch at the end to applaud the 10,000 fans allowed into the stadium for the first time since November.

Even though there seemed plenty of additional meaning and emotion behind the gesture, Mason insisted after the final whistle that it was ‘normal’.

However, the Daily Mirror writes that Kane did view walking around the pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as an opportunity to say his farewells to the fans. Despite the club’s reluctance to sell, it is said that he does actually ‘believe’ it was his last home game and he will be moving on.

Kane’s public openness about his future is even said to have ‘shocked’ his Spurs teammates.

“I don't want to come to the end of my career and have any regrets. I want to be the best I can be,” Kane told Gary Neville’s podcast.

“I never said I'd stay at Spurs for the rest of my career and I've never said I'd leave Spurs. People might say, 'he's desperate for trophies, he needs trophies', but I still feel like I've still got almost another career to play.

“I've got seven, eight years, kind of what I've already had in the Premier League. So I'm not rushing anything, I'm not desperate to do anything.

“I want to be playing in the biggest games. This season, I'm watching the Champions League and the English teams doing amazing, and they're the games I want to be involved in.”
