Harry Kane Credits Impact of Jose Mourinho for Impressive Start to the Season

Tottenham forward Harry Kane has hailed the impact Jose Mourinho has had on his individual development following his flying start to the season.

Kane has scored 13 goals in 13 appearances thus far, with Spurs second in the table and remaining unbeaten in the Premier League since their opening day defeat to Everton.

"It's been great to have him [Mourinho] just at the training ground, on the training field," Kane told PA (via the Evening Standard).

"Just learning and seeing how he goes about his business, seeing how he deals with different situations and problems, so that's all been great to learn."

The Spurs striker has surpassed the 200-goal milestone for his club this campaign, but his ability to provide for others has also shone through.

Kane has dropped into a number ten role at times and laid on ten assists for his teammates, with his partnership with Son Heung-min blossoming - and he has credited Mourinho for this.

"I think he saw in my game that I like to drop deep so he made it clear to the others - like Sonny, Stevie, Bale, Lamela, Lucas, all these players - that if I do drop deep then they need to be the ones running in behind," added Kane.

"I think that's been the real difference. It's allowed me to create space and get the ball but have an option going forward as well. He's been great and I look forward to obviously the months ahead and getting on really well.

"We're playing well. I still think that we can improve and get better but obviously we're second in the league. We're in November, there's still a lot of games to play, but we're in a good spot."

Tottenham return to Premier League action on Saturday with a mouthwatering clash against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
