Inter are prepared to increase their offer for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen to £12.8m plus add-ons, but that may still not be enough to prise the Dane away from north London.
The two sides have been negotiating a deal for what feels like an eternity, but they are yet to reach an agreement. Inter have been reluctant to overpay for a player who will be out of contract in the summer, while Spurs do not want to let a world class player leave for cheap.

To try and get the deal over the line, The Guardian claim Inter are ready to up their bid to £12.8m, and the club are thought to be confident that that will be enough to convince Spurs to part ways with the Denmark international.
Personal terms have already been agreed, meaning Eriksen is currently set to join for free in the summer anyway, but Antonio Conte wants to bolster his side as soon as possible and is ready to pay to do so, just like he did with Ashley Young.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Inter may have to increase their bid slightly more as Spurs are adamant they will only sell for £17m.

Spurs want to raise money to sign both a striker and a midfielder, so they want every penny possible if they are to part ways with Eriksen now.
Eriksen's agent, Martin Schoots, is set for a meeting with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to discuss the situation and find out what it is going to take for his client to seal a move to San Siro this month.
Manager José Mourinho has already admitted that he will continue to consider Eriksen for selection as long as he is still at the club, although he did challenge the midfielder to stop letting the transfer speculation impact his performance level.

Eriksen has already made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, with just over half of those coming as a starter. He has managed three goals and three assists and is yet to reach the level which fans expect of him.
