
Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with young defender Japhet Tanganga over a new contract, and there is said to be 'growing hope' that he will pen the new long-term deal in the 'not too distant future.'
The 20-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Jose Mourinho's starting lineup for Spurs' clash with Liverpool in January, but Tanganga was impressive on his Premier League debut despite the defeat.
The versatile defender has since gone on to play the full 90 minutes in six of his side's last seven matches in all competitions.
