Jol disappointed as Liverpool's run continues

"You can say it was a confident performance but I feel we didn't attack the space and penetrate enough," said Martin Jol.

The Dutchman was secretly expecting at the very worst another draw last Saturday: "I had a good feeling before the game because we had one of our best teams out of late."

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez remarked after the game how Spurs had done very well at maintaining possession, which Jol agreed with.

Jol added: "The positives are that we didn't give away a lot. There were a couple of their crosses from the right side where we didn't pressurise them but for the rest of the game we closed them down and restricted Alonso, their playmaker, and Gerrard."
