Spurs boss Martin Jol pointed out that his Tottenham side, which is made up predominantly of English players, can make that vital difference to European competitions.
Jol said: "When I was younger, Spurs was the best club in Britain. Last week there was not one single British player in the Champions League. Did you notice?"
