Keeper Deal Close

Last updated : 18 July 2010 By Sam

The Spurs boss has said that he is close to completing the signing of the 31-year-old Croatian international shot-stopper, who had agreed to join Spurs on a loan deal from Spartak Moscow last summer but the move did not materialise because he sustained knee ligament damage.

“We might be taking another Croatian, goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, we have every chance. We might be getting him and that’s good,” Redknapp told Croatian Soccer Report.

“Player wise it’s difficult really, we’re still looking for one or two. We’ll have to see who comes up.

“I would say the best boys I’ve ever managed in my life have been Croatian. I’m not just saying that. I think they are fantastic.

“I’ve had Igor Stimac, Slaven Bilic, Davor Suker. Robert Prosinecki was a genius. Fantastic footballers and all great guys too.”
