Manchester United vs Tottenham Preview: How to Watch on TV, Live Stream, Kick Off Time & Team News

Tottenham’s hectic September schedule draws to a close with a trip to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Following a dire start to the campaign, Spurs are exiting the opening month of the season with an overriding sense of optimism following their superb work in the transfer market and their ever-improving performances under Jose Mourinho.

United, meanwhile, will be looking to lay down a marker against a side that are poised to challenge for the top-four alongside the Red Devils. Solskjaer's side were dire in their opening game of the campaign against Crystal Palace and were unconvincing in their 3-2 victory at Brighton last Saturday.

Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Team News

Solskjaer has no fresh injury concerns heading into this one. Harry Maguire is fit after recovering from a knock, while Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe remain out.

As for Spurs, they’re likely to be without Son Heung-min (hamstring) while Giovani Lo Celso is a doubt after picking up a knock in Thursday night’s victory.

Gareth Bale (knee) will return after the international break.

Predicted Lineups

United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Pogba, Matic; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

Spurs: Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Winks, Ndombele; Moura, Kane, Bergwijn.

Recent Form

United come into this one fresh off a convincing 3-0 cup victory over Brighton in the week. That came after a flattering triumph over the Seagulls on the south coast last weekend, with Bruno Fernandes' last-gasp spot-kick handing the Red Devils all three points after Solly March had deservedly pulled the hosts level late on.

Tottenham secured back-to-back victories in the week which saw them advance into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and Europa League group stages at the expense of Chelsea and Maccabi Haifa respectively.

Last time out in the Premier League, though, they were 'held' to a 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle as a result of Eric Dier being born with arms.

Here are the their five most recent competitive results.

Man Utd

Brighton 0-3 Man Utd (30/09) Brighton 2-3 Man Utd (26/09) Luton Town 0-3 Man Utd (22/09) Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace (19/09) Sevilla 2-1 Man Utd (16/08)

Spurs

Spurs 7-2 Maccabi Haifa (01/10) Spurs 1-1 Chelsea (5-4 pens) (29/09) Spurs 1-1 Newcastle (27/09) Shkendija 1-3 Spurs (24/09) Southampton 2-5 Spurs (20/09)

Prediction

Spurs have dealt admirably with their ridiculous schedule thus far and they'll be content with a point here.

This could be vintage Jose; sit deep and look to pick off the hosts in transition - where Solskjaer's side are vulnerable. However, with Sergio Reguilon potentially making his Premier League debut and Tanguy Ndombele set to enjoy the finest of second season remontada's, there's no doubting that Spurs are now blessed with a dynamic, multi-faceted attack capable of overwhelming any defence.

There should be goals here, United also have too much attacking talent at their disposal to be thwarted by a Spurs block which has looked rather porous thus far this term after a stout end to 2019/20.

These two match-up well with one another and it wouldn't be surprising to see a high-scoring draw.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
