Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen looks set to become the subject of a tug of war between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
The Denmark international is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and has often been linked with moves away from north London.
Long-term suitors Real Madrid have been given a boost in their hopes of landing the midfielder as the Daily Star claim that Eriksen has become unhappy with some things which are being asked of him by Mauricio Pochettino.
The 26-year-old is frustrated that he is often being asked to play out of his favoured position just behind Harry Kane, and he is still annoyed that he is not among the club's highest paid players.
Eriksen's current £70k-a-week contract expires next season, but so far there has been no progress on talks over an extension with Spurs. Belgian trio Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembélé could also become free agents by 2020.
Reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also looking at Eriksen's availability. Les Parisiens were linked with the Dane during the summer transfer window, but Adrien Rabiot's imminent departure could force them to step up their interest next year.
Eriksen has made 239 appearances for Tottenham since he first joined the club in a €13.5m deal from Dutch giants Ajax back in 2013.
He's been directly involved in 130 goals across all competitions during that time, winning four Danish Player of the Year awards and helping to establish Spurs as a Champions League side once again.
