Tottenham progressed to the last four with a 3-1 sixth round replay win against Fulham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night much to the delight of the Spurs boss.
"They (Portsmouth) are a great club with great supporters," he said.
"It will be a real good day and a great atmosphere.
"Avram Grant texted me and said he hopes we win every game except the semi-final.
"I know some of the boys there like Hermann Hreidarssom, King Kanu, Richard Hughes and David James. It'll be good to see them.
"It'll be a funny day, a strange day. They have great support and it'll be a great atmosphere.
"It will be great for them. They need something to lift their season."
