Robbo holds his nerve

Spurs boss Martin Jol, said: "Paul Robinson was criticised by people but a lot of them didn't know what they were talking about because what happened could have happened to anyone.

"It wasn't a mistake, it was just unfortunate. I was very pleased with his performance (against Villa)."

"In the first half (for England against Croatia) I was proud of him because he made some good saves - he saved England, to be honest. Then in the next minute he got that experience.”

"I learned when I was young defenders mustn't play the ball back in front of the goal.”

Robinson said: "Since that goal it's gone mad in the newspapers but I thought I played well on the night, made some good saves and I've felt confident in all my recent performances.”
