Ryan Mason says Harry Kane loves Tottenham & won't discuss the striker's future with him

Tottenham interim manager Ryan Mason has batted off questions regarding Harry Kane's future at the club, claiming he has no intention of speaking to him about speculation linking him with a move away and that the frontman loves Spurs.

Kane is yet to win a single piece of silverware in his career despite being widely regarded as one of the best - if not the best - strikers in the world.

The Carabao Cup final against Manchester City last Sunday represented a glorious chance for him and the club to end their trophy hoodoo, though the 1-0 defeat meant Kane only had another runners-up medal to hang next to his one from the 2019 Champions League final.

Despite remaining with Tottenham as his career has continued to flourish, Kane has repeatedly signalled his desire to win trophies, though Mason denied there had been any talk regarding his future when asked about his star striker.

"Harry is a constant professional," he told reporters (via Sky Sports). "There hasn't been and there won't be any conversations between me and him regarding anything apart from the training day or the match ahead.

"He's one of the most professional guys I've ever met. He's been training excellent this week, he'll train excellent tomorrow and he'll be ready for the weekend.

"Harry Kane loves this football club, that's been proven over the last seven or eight years. He's one of the best strikers in the world, everyone knows that, we know that and I'd like to think Harry knows that as well."

Mason's Spurs host already relegated Sheffield United on Sunday as they continue their fight for a place in next season's Champions League.

A top four finish looks a tall order with Tottenham currently five points off fourth place Chelsea with just five games remaining, though Mason isn't giving up hope and is adamant talk of Kane's future won't distract his preparations.

"The most important thing right now is this weekend, we can't disrespect any opponent, we can't invest energy in anything else. That's all I have to say on the matter."
