Spurs Hold Firm.

It is becoming increasingly clear that this will be resolved to his satisfaction or not at all, which would leave Chelsea somewhat embarrassed, having gone public with the deal in anticipation of Tottenham rolling over and obliging them on their terms.

If Chelsea do not agree to Spurs terms then Frank Arnesen will be up for the gardener of the year award. (Shortly before he lands in court on a breach of contract charge)

Tottenham terms are sure to include no further poaching of any of their staff/players.

(Chelsea have already poached one of their medical staff in addition to Arnesen).

Somehow I expect that this would be a contractual agreement with punitive damages if broken.

Rather than say a gentleman’s agreement that operated perfectly well in the past.

Would probably also include a player such as Scott Parker (But I would prefer Wayne Bridge myself).

And perhaps some money as well.

Obviously this episode will damage Spurs short to medium term ambitions as it took them just over a year to find Arnesen in the first place, coupled with the fact that this seasons transfer signings are in limbo if not curtailed.

So Daniel has this huge damage limitation task on his hands (Assuming he doesn’t do a “Chelsea”) and poach a DOF from some other team.

Presumably if we he gets a DOF from some other team there will be compensation agreed prior to the deal being announced.
