The Tottenham lineup that should start against Everton in the FA Cup

Tottenham resume their FA Cup campaign on Wednesday night when they face Everton at Goodison Park, having parked their rotten form somewhat with a simple victory over West Brom.

Jose Mourinho's side looked lost without Harry Kane during losses to Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea but the England captain made a surprise comeback on Sunday, scoring the opener against the Baggies before Son Heung-min made it 2-0.

Spurs haven't lost at Goodison Park since 2012, when injury time strikes from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar trumped Clint Dempsey's 76th minute effort.

Mourinho played up the Europa League in particular after the Chelsea loss and will be targeting another domestic cup final to go alongside the Carabao Cup. However, they face an Everton side who recently battled to a remarkable 3-3 draw with Manchester United and who beat Spurs on the opening day of the season.

Let's take a look at the side Mourinho could field for the trip to Merseyside.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Joe Hart (GK) - Hart has got his run outs in cup competitions this season and featured in the 5-0 win at Marine.

Matt Doherty (RB) - The Irishman has struggled since his move from Wolves, often looking lost when playing a deeper role than the one he was given at Molineux. Serge Aurier picked up a knock against West Brom so Doherty should get the nod.

Joe Rodon (CB) - Has put in some encouraging displays, though silly mistakes have tainted them somewhat. The Wales international should get his chance with Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld likely to be rested.

Eric Dier (CB) - Was originally Mourinho's go-to guy in central defence but some poor performances this term seem to have pushed him down the pecking order. The penalty Dier gave away against Chelsea was just horrendous and Spurs can't afford any more brainfarts from the defender.

Ben Davies (LB) - Sergio Reguilon remains absent, meaning Davies will continue to deputise in at left back. He was more adventurous on Sunday but doesn't boast the same final product as the Spaniard.

2. Midfieders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - Was excellent again on Sunday and showed his attacking capabilities by setting up Kane for the game's opener. No other midfielder at Tottenham's disposal offers the same presence so the Dane should feature from the off.

Harry Winks (CM) - England international Winks wasn't even in the squad on Sunday. It may be a straight shootout between him and Moussa Sissoko for a spot in central midfield should Mourinho elect to rest Tanguy Ndombele.

Erik Lamela (AM) - Buzzed around with promise against West Brom and deserves the chance to string a few starts together.

3. Forwards

Steven Bergwijn (RW) - The Dutchman picked up a few assists against Sheffield United and Liverpool - both goals were more about the finishes, but still - and appeared as a substitute against West Brom. Could really use a goal, having failed to score for Tottenham so far this season.

Harry Kane (ST) - Seemed to move relatively freely against West Brom during his earlier than anticipated return from injury. Scored and Mourinho will likely utilise him up front again rather than give Carlos Vinicius a start.

Son Heung-min (LW) - Suddenly looked a threat with Kane back alongside him up front.
