Tottenham at Risk of Playing the Rest of the Season at Wembley if New Ground Hits Further Snags

Tottenham Hotspur will be forced to see out the remainder of the season at Wembley by the Premier League's decision makers if their impending stadium move hits another stumbling block.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were set to christen their new ground at the start of the season, but setback after setback now has the club's moving date pushed back until March.

Although the Premier League have given the all clear for Spurs following the most recent delays, The Sun claims that the top flight's most senior figures won't be so accommodating if there are any more delays with the move.

It's suggested that Tottenham will have to see out the rest of this season at Wembley if the club's current estimated move date can't be met, which as things stand would see just five home games before the end of the campaign.

Spurs also face an uphill battle with the current schedule. There is a chance that Tottenham's new ground could be christened against Arsenal, a game which is set to be played on 2nd March.

However, local police chiefs are against the idea of having the north London derby as the first game in Tottenham's new stadium, with concerns that travelling fans could take 'souvenirs' from the ground.

It is now expected that Spurs will move into their new stadium in time for their match against Crystal Palace on March 16. They would also host Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town before the end of the season.
