The Bafana Bafana captain, 29, will undergo surgery on a groin injury he has been struggling with for months.
Pienaar, who joined Spurs from Everton in January, has put off the operation until after Sunday's game against Egypt.

The former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who also has a thigh complaint, said: 'The injury has been giving me lots of problems over the last few months.
'I've decided to go for the operation after the international.'
